
Security systems of all the banks are very common
There is not much difference
But this time sometimes worst has happened which results in the blocking of 32 lakhs debit cards without any prior notice
Out of these 32 lakhs 26lakhs are of master-card or visa and rest 6 lakhs are of rupay platform
The main bank which have to suffer from this hack are
1-HDFC
2-ICICI
3-YES BANK
4-AXIS BANK
5-SBI BANK
The banks have requested their users to change their PIN or have blocked thier debit cards and have dispatched new cards with a new security chip installed on it
How did this happen
This breach has originated in the malware that was introduced in the systems that were installed by Hitachi Payment Services. If you aren’t aware, let us tell you that Hitachi provides ATM services. This malware affected major banks. What happened was that due to this malware, the fraudsters could easily steal information, which in turn allowed them to steal funds.
The Payments Council Of India has ordered a forensic audit on servers of Indian banks so that the roots of this fraud can be traced. AP Hota, the Managing Director of NPCI stated that “We have received complaints from banks about debit cards being used in China which aroused suspicion.”

HDFC bank has dispatched new ATM cards for their users with a new security chip installed on the cards. let us tell you that before this security chips are only provided to those who opens a new bank account or request for a new ATM card but as this has happened HDFC has started to provide new ATM cards to all of thier users.
HDFC has also requested thier customers to use only HDFC ATMS while transactions as the ATM of HDFC banks are too secure as compared to other banks ATM
RBI ( Reserve bank of INDIA) as this news became virual RBI orders all the banks to replace all the debit cards to with the new ATM cards which contains a security chip to make the payment more secure.
