Major Upcoming Smartphones to be launched very soon

These are all the major smartphones coming out this year 

1/9Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus

Xiaomi’s 2017 flagship has been officially announced to be releasing at the end of this week. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced during an online interaction with Mi fans in India that the Mi 6 and the Mi 6 Plus will be launching this month. This was followed by an official post on Mi forum confirming the April 19. The Mi 6 is expected to launch in three variants- one with the MediaTek Helio X30 processor and two with Snapdragon 835 processor. The top variant is expected to sport dual-curved display and come with a dual-camera stack on the rear.

2/9Asus Zenfone 4

It is expected that the 2017 range of Asus Zenfone smartphones will be launched at Computex in Taiwan which is scheduled to kick off at end of May. Asus has already unveiled the Zenfone AR, the Project Tango plus Daydream ready smartphone that combines Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in one device. In addition, like last year, Asus is expected to launch a barrage of Zenfone 4 phones for every price range. So far we don’t have anything on the devices but as the launch is still quite some time away, leaks will eventually turn up.

3/9HTC U

HTC has already launched one flagship device this year. The HTC U Ultra that comes with a LG V20-like second screen failed to dazzle. But HTC has yet another trump card in its hands. The HTC U will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 and according to leakster Evan Blass, the phone could come with an Edge sense technology that makes the edges around the phone receptive to squeezes which will launch actions like starting the camera, etc. The phone is expected to be announced sometime in the second quarter.

4/9OnePlus 5

OnePlus has traditionally followed a launch cycle of one phone per year. But that changed last year with the OnePlus 3T that launched six months after the OnePlus 3 launched in June 2016. Now its unclear when the OnePlus 5 will come out. But if history is anything to go by, it will come out around the same time. OnePlus is skipping the OnePlus 4 nomenclature as the number 4 is associated with death in Chinese culture.

Based on rumours, the OnePlus 5 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM with a 5.5-inch quadHD display on top. It is also expected to ship wit a dual-curved display and sport a 23-megapixel rear camera.

5/9Moto Z2 Moto Z2 Force

The Moto Z and the Moto Z Force (not released in India) was a game changer last year. It finally made the modular concept mainstream and somewhat usable. And it is expected that Lenovo is not likely to give up on that momentum any time soon. Like last year, the Moto Z2 is expected to be launched sometime around June.

Based on leaked images by Evan Blass, we expect the Moto Z2 to sport dual cameras on the back and extended support for Moto Mods.

6/9Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Samsung would love to forget everything about last year’s Galaxy Note 7. But then, Samsung is expected to release another iteration of its Note series this year. It is likely to be called the Galaxy Note 8 and could come out in August like last year. However, a postponed launch of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus could mean the launch of the Note 8 could be pushed back by some days.

The device will most definitely come with the S Pen and hopefully sport the infinity display that the Galaxy S8 comes with. It is also likely that Samsung will not ship the phone with a large-capacity battery.

7/9LG V30

The LG V20 last year was a critically acclaimed phone, especially for its use of a quad DAC which magically transformed the audio output. Even more than that, the V20 was an overall great phone that came with a secondary display and fish-eye-like wide-angle camera. The successor to the V20, which is likely to called the LG V30 could come with the secondary display and the newer, more powerful quad DAC that launched with the LG G6. The phone could also implement LG’s new 18:9 display.

8/9iPhone X and iPhone 7s

The most anticipated phone of the year, undoubtedly the 10th anniversary iPhone. The phone has been generating a lot of traction online with one leak or the other almost everyday coming out on the internet. Based on the rumours alone, we can say that the iPhone X (which is what the pundits are calling it) is likely to come with a bezel-less OLED display with the TouchID integrated in the display, 3D facial recognition, wireless charging, a 3D dual camera, and more.

However, we advise you to take all the rumours with a pinch of salt, as there is no way to confirm which is true and which is not. What we know for sure is that the phone will be coming out sometime around September.

9/9Pixel 2 Pixel XL 2

Google is expected to build up on the success of last year’s Pixel phones which were lauded for the harmonious integration of hardware and software. It is expected that the Pixel 2 will not be wildly different from its predecessor and could come with a refined camera, a better design, a curved display with waterproofing and probably an affordable price tag.

Nevertheless, it is expected the Pixel 2 phones will be coming out in October along with the final release of Android O.
